This filter saves you a ton of money and is real easy to use. I have one in both the brewers we have in our house. You use them just like the paper ones, they work better than the paper ones, and you do not throw them away. When you empty used grounds out of it, I use my finger to scrap out all the grounds into the trash then just rinse or wash it and its ready to go again. We rinse ours but do wash them about every 3 posts brewed. I have not had any grounds wind up in the pot of coffee below. Have you ever had your paper one fold while brewing and ruin a good pot with grounds spilling down into it? Well that will not happen with this filter. This filter was slightly to tall for the old pot I had that died so I just took a good pair of kitchen shears and cut a little bit of that wide upper black plastic band off and it worked just great. It also fits into the newer Rival pot I just had to buy (review below) and works great. I have had these filters for ...... a few years now and still work good as new. So for the money yes its a good buy and saves you so much more money than buying the paper ones.
