StarLooks Starbox September 2012

September Box
I just received my second Starlooks Star Box and have played with the products inside. I am ready to do a review for the September box. Yes this is the subscription service I reviewed last month and is $15.00 a month. This box came in white with a pretty grey ribbon on it. Wrapped in grey tissue paper there was the usual piece of crystal stone, information cards about the products, specials, and the monthly products themselves, but not just 3-4 products, this time there were 6 and a half. I will explain all the products in order of use and the half product also, down below.

Clear primer

First there is the iP20 primer in clear for the eyes. Now in the container it looks white but it goes on clear. You only need a little dab for each eye so this small jar of primer will go a very long way. It is meant to be just a tiny bit tacky on the eye lid. If it is shinny and very tacky, you used to much. The little tiny dab will cover the whole eye lid, eye brow and below the lower lashes to help give all your eye products some staying power and help pop those colors vividly. Trust me the staying power is there and I am one that forgets I have makeup on and touches my face a lot, but after 10 hours my shadow and liner look just as fresh as when I first applied them. I love this primer.

From left to right-gold, white, pink, purple, green
The 5 piece eye shadow set has a lot of shimmer in each color. The colors are, (from left to right) Gold, White, Pink, Purple, and Mint Green. They can be worn alone or with any other eye shadow colors or types to enhance or change the colors. Now I love the colors by themselves so I have not tried the mixing of them with any of my other shadows I already have. (Did mix the next day, picture lower part of this page.) They are bright and pretty pastels that are a little hard to tell the colors apart on my light skin tone, but you can see it. I love them. I have used mostly the first four and have not tried the green as of yet. Without the primer they are less vibrant but still pretty.

See the stone as a nose ring lol
Now the half product. Lol. StarLooks was also kind enough to include a little vial of round eye gems. There are 3 colors of these (white, gold, & pink) and there were 16 of them in my box. They go on with a dab of eye lash glue and if you do not have that I would think a small dab of Elmer’s glue would work too. I had to take mine off when I removed my makeup. They stayed. Also to get the glue off so you can reuse them, just roll them around between your fingers a bit and they are good as new. As you can see in the pictures I also used one of the gems to fake a nose ring. Just had to. You have to have a little fun in life. Lol

As you can also see I used my eye shadow brush and eye liner from last months box, my brown brow liner (due to the StarLooks one is a tad to dark for my brows), mascara, and 2 other brushes to help do my brows, to apply this look. I use them regularly.
This was all I used on my eyes

So once again the big question - is this monthly subscription worth the $15.00 a month? Due to these economic times I have to say - if you can spare it monthly, for sure it is. If StarLooks keeps up the great work with these boxes, by far may turn out to be the best subscription out there. I love them.

Pinks and purples - golds and greens mixed with StarLooks eye shadows
They also have products you can order from their site separately and guess what - if your order is under 10 pounds weather its one product or a few, if its under you get free shipping And you earn points for every dollar you spend with them in their Starbox points program. 100 points gets you 10 STAR DOLLARS toward your next purchase. Wow another great thing from StarLooks.com. You can also get a free makeup bag for referring just one person - at checkout have them put your name in the referral box or give a Starbox subscription as a gift and put your own name in the referral box and still get the bag. It just keeps getting better.

This Star Box program is $15.00 a month and below I have some info directly from their web site about it and I would go on their site and read the F A Q section. I found that it had answers to everything I could think to ask about their program and products. They also have a Youtube channel that shows how to use their products too.www.youtube.com/starlooksmd   They are also for any skin tones, animal friendly, contain no lead, and are emollient free.

I would say if you can afford $15.00, it is worth it to me from what I can see. None of the products made my face break out or itch.
