Lysol Power and Free Multi-Purpose Cleaner

We all know the Lysol family and that it kills 99.9% of germs on surfaces in our kitchens and bathrooms, so it has become a name we trust to do just that. But now they have a newer product that does not have the harshness of bleach and still cleans and disinfects to help keep us healthy.

I was so glad to see that bzzagent.com had this campaign so I could try and test this line of Lysol products. I am very sensitive to bleach and really try hard to stay away from it, but I also want a clean and healthy environment for my family.

I have a family of 7 adults in my house currently and 5 of them are men so we all know how a home can get with that many people living in it.

As you can see with 7 showering and the age of my home the bathroom is real hard to clean and keep clean. But I sprayed down the whole shower, walls, tub, and bathroom sink, then let it set for about 5 minutes.
If you are very sensitive to chemical smells this one does not have that but I am extra sensitive and when I was spraying the back of my shower wall, I had the curtain right there and with it kind of closed in back there, I did gag once while spraying this product but I honestly think that is just me being over sensitive.

I then went back in with a green scrubber and expected to go to work with elbow grease but found that just a light scrubbing was all that was needed. No clothespin on the nose, no gloves, no knee pads, none of that armor we all usually put on to use some of those other harsh smelling and skin eating cleaning products out there. A very mild cleaning product with the power of TNT on stains and dirt. Pow and all gone.

This is what my bathroom looked like 2 weeks after I cleaned it with the Lysol Power and Free Multi-Purpose Cleaner. I am so surprised how it turned my yellowish dirty pink tiles back to pink tiles and white grout again.

This product is a great value and defiantly does what it says it will do. My bathroom has a fresh clean smell and look to it now. I also use the wipes to keep it that way and in my kitchen for those suddenly small spills or as a quick refresh of my counters when needed. I would say that this product is worth every penny. To have to clean less often with less effort means so much to a busy mommy and this product does help do just that.

Bath & Body Works - White Barn in Black Pepper Bergamot

Now I have a candle review for you. My first Bath and Body Works (BBW) candle from...... my VoxBox (reviewed a few reviews back). This is one of the mini candles that are priced at $3.50 regular price and they have many good sales and markdowns so you just have to catch one of their ads or get on their emailing list so you do not miss any of their sales and new products.

OK back to my candle. The scent I received in my box is the White Barn in Black Pepper Bergamot. Not sure it is a candle that I would buy myself so kind of glad it came in my VoxBox, that way I was made to try it (laughing a little). First let me say that the burn is quite good and even, the wax melts evenly, and the throw is fairly on the stronger side. After burning it on average about every 2 days or so, I have just under about half the candle left. You can smell the pepper in this candle but it also has a scent of a men's musk cologne mixed with it. So it is not a heavy scent when burning but it is a strong but acceptable scent. I would not put it in my living room but in a man cave or a single man home it is the proper scent. I also think that if a woman went into the man cave and smelled this burning, they would not mind it to much. It is not a stomach turner just more of a manly scent to me.

So for my personal thoughts on this scent of candle * MAN CAVE ? YES *
Ladies Cave ? No not this lady, but maybe some would like it better than me.

Reusable Plastic Multi Purpose Storage Box

I received 2 of these fold flat boxes, one in pink and one in blue. The pink on is 21 Gallon (21-1/2 L x 13-3/4 W x 16-1/2 H) and the blue one is 12 Gallon (21-1/2 L x13-3/4 W x9-3/8 H). If you noticed that both boxes have the same length and width measurements you would be right. That is for them to be more sturdy when you stack them. Only the height makes them different sizes. This is a great feature, I thought. They have built in cutouts for your hands to fit in to carry them with ease. They are very ease to open into their box form just as it shows on their website, but even if you open them your own way they are still easy to figure out and set up. Once filled they have a white write on window on 2 sides of each box making it easy to label in either direction you want to stack them. You need to use a china dry erase marker for labeling the boxes, but I did use a permanent marker on one and wiped it off about an hour later. It did come off but took some rubbing so I do advise NOT to use perm markers. I can not say exactly how much, but they do seem to hold a lot of weight. I filled one with a few books and things as if I were moving and it did not seem to bow at the bottom. The closure at the top is nice due to if you have the box a little over stuffed it will still hold. They work like a normal cardboard box but with a little more strength and durability. I use the 12 gallon for the grocery shopping and Sam's club trips. Works well for the bulk items and then stores in my trunk flat and out of the way. The 21 gallon I have next to my desk holding all the things that I need but do not have the drawers for. I have drug it back and forth on the floor by the built in handles (and I have a lot of stuff in it-trust me) and it is holding up real well and closing it keeps other out of my things. After using them a bit, they still fold down pretty flat again and again. Now water can get into them just like any other box, but these do not fall apart like cardboard and the normal moisture you would get from stored items does not effect these boxes unlike cardboard that sops up every bit of moisture. The only con I really can come up with is that I feel they need to make a 6 gallon one also, for those immediate items one needs when moving. Like bathroom items and a care box of a few kitchen items we all want when tired from moving but just want to fix a snack and get a drink. You all know what I mean. The 6 gal. would be different in length and width to keep the height for bathroom bottles but 2 could be stacked side by side to make stacking them just as durable. So I will have to say even though cardboard boxes may seem easier to get than ordering boxes, if you are one that moves often or stores a lot of things, it would be so worth it to invest in these wonderful fold flat boxes.

They come in 4 colors - white, blue, pink, and green and is up to you or mix and match. Also they have 3 kinds - Classic ( the ones I just reviewed), Under Bed, and Tote. You can also order in bulk for a better price if ordering 25 pcs. or more.

So go check out their website and take a look - www.packaways.com

Vanilla Cream Candle - 4 Oz.

See the burn level ?
The way it looks in the store
I was in Walmart about 2 weeks ago picking up an item or two when I passed through the candle section and was loving the smells so I stopped and decided to get me a nice smelling candle. I picked up this candle, took a smell and wow. I bought all they had left (only 3). Now we all know that the economy and job market is bad, it is hard for any of us to buy some of the high end goodies we all like, but let me tell you, this candle is not shabby at all. I bought it due to the vanilla cream smell was real strong in the store, hoping that when I it burned it would have at least half the smell it did in the store. Let me tell you, it burns with such a nice just right smell and worked its way through half my house. The vanilla smell is strong but not to strong and that I think is the cream part. The flame is strong and this candle burns evenly. It also burns slowly. I have burned one next to me while at my computer for about a week and a half, for hours at a time (label on bottom says only 4 hrs at a time - Think I may have passed that a little), and I have half a candle still left in my first one. Once I blow it out, the scent lingers in the house for about 2 hours. In my book that is a pretty good fragrance candle. I do not usually state prices on here unless they are locked for whoever and wherever, but this one is such a great candle for the price I will break that rule just this time. At my local Walmart, I paid about $ 2.00 and it is a 4 Oz candle. For the price and the performance, it is so worth the price.

Shoes Away

I have had this over the years (at least 3 years) and I have used it on and off only because it is king of on the larger side but once I moved into a house and out of an apartment, I use it far more. I have it hanging on a closet door. Let me tell you this thing does hold a lot of shoes. Most shoes will fit 2 to a slot but shoes like wedges and such need to be put in one shoe per slot. The slots are mostly clear so you can see what shoes you have in it. The plastic slots are made of flexible clear plastic but are also very durable. When hung on the back of a door it is not as wide as a door but just wide and long enough that will be the only thing on that door. I would say if you have a lot of shoes this one is worth the money.

Side note: When living in an apartment, can hang inside a larger closet from the clothing bar or pole. A coat closet is kind of to small for this to hang in there with anything else

Sunbeam Nonstick Steam Iron

My gosh, I have owned this iron for so many years I forget how many. It is real inexpensive and does the job. I love the water fill port right on the top of the iron and it is big enough that it is easy to fill. There is also a window on the side so you can see how much water is going into it and helps to keep you from over filling. When using the steam, it does not spit like a lot of irons do. The settings are all just under the handle making them easy to access. The nonstick side really helps when you accidentally set it on heat to high for the garment and the garment melts. The nonstick service looks and acts just like the day I first used it. It gets hot just like when I first bought it also. The highest setting for hard wrinkles and iron on transfers actually work and do the job and in a short time. Do not have to go over and over it again and again. A must have especially for the price. I say this is the iron to own.

Lasko 20" Wind Machine Fan

I have 5 of these and this is the 3rd summer using them. They are nice, quiet, and put out a nice amount of air. I also bought one metal one because they blow hard and we had an extra hot dry summer last year and that one lasted only one summer. You have to check the back of the fan sometimes because they do collect dust sometimes and that will kill a fan fast but other than that they are very low maintenance. I have one in our kitchen/dinning room because that is one big room, one in living room, and one in each of our 3 bedrooms and the a/c works less and the house stays cool all the time. When we were having troubles with our a/c the fans were a blessing and kept us fairly cool then too. They tilt in many positions and lock into those positions too. When we had the very hot summer last year, we put our outside dog into our garage ( she tries to kill our kitty) and put one of the fans out there with her and she slept real comfortable. They are a very good buy for the money.

Coleman Focus Lantern

Bought this light 3 years ago and it is one little bull of a light. It is short and not to heavy. The 4 D batteries are most of the weight. As you can see from the picture, the whole top part is the light. It puts out one heck of an amount of light for such a little guy. It does not eat batteries either. I think in the 3 years we have had it, the batteries have been replaced 3 maybe 4 times. No lie. And we use it quite a bit, at least 4 times a week. We live on 5 acres and I have stood at the back door and shined it out into the dark night and it lights almost to the edge of our property behind our house and that is about 200 feet back. Most of our acres is to the side of our property but from our back door straight out is about 200 feet or a little more and it lights up the ground very brightly for about 150 to 175 of that 200 and then it starts to get darker from there on but you can still see back there. When our power goes out I put it sitting up like the picture and it lights up a very large room so that you can see everything in that room (usually our kitchen/dinning room because they make one big room). The handle has many positions on it so you can tilt this light just about any way you want it. It is almost like carrying a car headlight around. I would say for the money, its performance, and its tough little case - yes it is worth every penny.

Purple Power Citrus Cleaner

This stuff is the bomb and it will not hurt the environment. It cleans grease and gunk, even off your hands. We even have used it in the wash for those really dirty clothes. We use it all the time on almost everything. We get ours at Walmart but the hubby says he has seen it in other places. This one is worth the money.
