Adovia's Dead Sea Mud Shampoo

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
My first thought was, "mud shampoo?" is it thick like mud or a mud mask. But then I read more about it and decided to try it. It is dark in color like mud but the texture of the shampoo is far from digging in the actual mud.

Now I am new to the Dead Sea Mud thing but I do like the fact that it contains mostly natural minerals and ingredients. This shampoo claims to re-hydrate your scalp and have many helpful healing qualities.  This company also guarantees your satisfaction.

As you can see from the above pictures, this shipper does package the product well insuring that if there is any leakage from the bottle it will be contained and not getting all over the place. There was also brown paper stuffed around the bottle in the zip lock bag to keep it from moving around in the shipping box.

This shampoo helps to relieve itchy scalp due to dandruff, dryness, and symptoms from Scalp Psoriasis or Seborrhea Dermatitis. Now I can not testify to that due to I do not have any of those problems, but I did find it soothing when I did shampoo with it.

I have baby fine reddish hair so the first time I shampooed with this product, I did get the poofy hair look. I have to be careful with that kind of thing. The rest of the time I shampooed with this product I did use just a tad of conditioner afterwards. That seemed to fix the problem.

This picture was taken a full day after using the shampoo that morning. Still has a full look.
I have to say I was surprise at how well it did work. I did get a light lathering effect and it rinsed out easily. My hair had a different feel to it after using this product. The only way to describe it is to say it had a clean feel but not dry like. My hair had a bit more fullness and a slight thicker look as well.

So sorry my camera was acting up, best shot I could get.
You only need a small amount to get the job done. I have been using this shampoo every other day for about the last 3 weeks and I have barely put a dent in the bottle I have. Yes this shampoo can be considered pricey but if you can afford to splurge on yourself with this product, then I say from my point of view and my hair type, it is worth the money you will spend on it.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics

Ouchless Ribbon Elastics fun. These are simple but cute. The come in assorted colors and are very stretchy. They are like soft elastic ribbons that are very stylish too.

You can wear them in your hair and on your wrist so they are handy when you need to put your hair up.

These bands do not break the hair or pull on your scalp so you do not get those headaches that some other hair ties can cause. I think they would be great for the kids too. They do stretch out a little over time but still hold really well. They also make some of those hairstyles that you need a loose ponytail for, easier to do.

Are these worth the money? Yes I really enjoy using them. They are very comfortable and nice looking in the hair. Thank you Goody for another winner.

Fibond - Hair Loss Treatment

http://fibond.com/

Top of brother's head.
Back top of brother's head.
<<<<<<    Does your hair or your man's hair look like this?

Or this?      >>>>>>>>>

We all know this look and yes it does happen to women too. Just for information sake, this is my brother's scalp. He agreed to let me try this product on him for the sake of this review. He lives in our home so I was able to see the complete results from beginning to end of how this product preforms.

This product is an all natural plant resin fibers that are some how statically charged to cling to the hair that you have left and your scalp to look like natural hair once applied. It took the company years to develop this but it is finally here.
The above chart shows what kind of baldness Fibond will work on. This is not a paint on your scalp or an aerosol spray of some kind. You gently shake it out like powdering a baby and use a back and forth motion to cover the bald spot. It is easy but takes just a little practice to master the application. It also comes in 6 colors. As you can see the directions for color picking are below the pictures of the color choices. This does not have any animal fur in it or dyes. It actually clings to the hair and scalp. You can see it do that when you shake it out onto the scalp. It holds up really well in the wind, rain, and when sweating. This product claims to hold until you shampoo it out.

Now for my thoughts on this product. My brother was a good sport letting me use this product on his bald spots for me to review. I applied it for him each time he wanted to use it. He did not use it daily due to he works 12 hour shifts and is required to wear a hat on his job and did not want to waste the product under a hat. He also keeps his hair a little longer than most men do so that helped to note if a female were to use this product would it work with longer hair. The coverage was amazing. It does cover the bald spot and does look very natural. With fine hair, you just need to be careful that if the Fibond balls up a little on some of the hairs, just GENTLY comb through it to get rid of them.

As you can see by these two lower pictures of my brother's hair now, it does make a big difference.

We did not get to test it in the rain due to we have not had any rain in a few weeks, but the day these after pictures were taken it was a very windy and he was outside working in the heat (In the 90's) helping my husband put together a metal storage building. Fibond passed these tests.

For about $29.95 and the amount of product in the container, is this a good deal? I would say with the ease of usage, amount of product in the container, and the look of the results, yes it is worth the price. It is a temporary fix and would have to be applied daily if you wanted to cover the baldness all the time but it does look really good when on and without all the pain of some of those other methods out there. My brother did forget to shampoo it out one evening and just went to bed with it still in his hair. When he woke up his scalp was brown from the fibers rubbing into his head and pillow. Oh and the pillow case was brown also. I just tossed the brother into the shower and the pillow case into the wash and poof both were back to normal. So this Fibond does not stain at all.

I would find it hard to tell if someone was using this product if I did not know about it myself. You do have to look real close to tell it is there.

So if you would like any more info that I may have missed or to order your own Fibond, just click this link -

Take care and hope you enjoyed this review.

Sunkissed VoxBox from Influenster

(This review did not post on the original date it should have due to internet problems but is now posted)

Yes I have another Influenster box for reviewing. This one has some products that excite me just like all the other boxes I have received.

I always enjoy getting these mystery boxes filled with neat things to try out, learn about, use, and review.

Lets see what we have in this goody box. First I see DrScholl's for Her High Heel insoles. I do not wear high heals very often and when I do they are lower heals not the very tall kind but I will wear them just to test these insoles. Who knows. Maybe they will make wearing heels more comfy for me.

BB Cream ! ! Olay fresh effects BB Cream with sunscreen. I have wanted to try a BB cream for a while now. I can not wait.

Oh nail polish. Sinfulshine with Gel Tech and in 32 beautiful shades. I love the color blue. How did they know?

And last but not least, a 5 pc. collection of the Goody ouchless ribbon elastics. These are all the rave and now I can decide if they are. At least for me.

I can not wait to dive in and enjoy all the items in this VoxBox.
Individual reviews to follow. Take care everyone.

Goody Brush Review

I received this strange brush from the company Goody in the Influenster box I received December 2012. It has micro fibers (like terry cloth little fingers) in between the normal rows of bristles and a half domed shape with air holes built into the sides for airflow to easily pass through therefore helping speed the drying process of the hair. You can use this brush while blow drying your hair too. I do not blow dry my hair that often due to the baby fineness of it, but my hair does hold a ton of water even after being in a towel for 20 minutes so I was eager to try this brush.

Let me tell you, this quirky brush did do the trick. Just by brushing my wet hair, it did take out a lot of the drippy water. I really could notice the difference. Usually my hair is so full of water it drips, but after a few minutes of brushing with this brush it was not dripping and close to dry.

I do have to say that when you go to clean the loose hair from the brush, it will take a little effort and you need to be careful not to mess up the microfibers in between the bristles but it is still worth this little effort needed to clean.

So do I say it is worth it? It averages (per the Goody company), $11.99 and if you can spend that on a brush yes I would say it is worth it. It does what it claims and still you can use it as a regular brush too.

Can be found at www.goody.com or many retailers.

Influenster Holiday VoxBox 2012

I received my second VoxBox from www.influenster.com. This is a website that sends out what they call a VoxBox full of different products from tons of companies that want to get their products out there in the public eye with reviews, tips, and word of mouth. Some you may know and some new. All you have to do is go to www.influenster.com, sign up, do some surveys so they can get to kind of know you and build up what they call badges. Its up to you. Now the items are free but you do have to go back to their site and fill out surveys and questionnaires about the products in order to remain an Influenster. I also must tell you that no one is guaranteed to get a VoxBox at anytime. It did take me a little time to get my first box and yes it was worth the wait, and this may be the only one I get for a few months. They will email you stating that you are being considered for a box are you still interested. Then once you reply to that email you will get another email soon after letting you know if a VoxBox is on its way to you or not.  Just stick with it and you may be one of the lucky ones.

I received my box in late December 2012 and this is what it has in it. First a notice about S O L E S O C I E T Y.
A very generous offer from www.SoleSociety.com that if you go to their website and use the code INFLUENSTER25 upon checkout, you will $25.00 off your first purchase. What a wonderful jester. Hurry the coupon expires January 31, 2013 (also posted on my YouTube channel).

Goody Simply Styles Spin Pin

I have a hair tool review for you now and yes from the VoxBox (reviewed a few below) again. This one is known as the Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin. This is a tool made to help hold your up do or buns in place without bobby pins. They can be hid with the hair and 2 of them hold like a bunch of bobby pins eliminating the need for a ton of bobby pins sticking in your hair do and showing.

I have been wanting to try these for a while now but we all know how we feel about spending $7.29 (per Goody) for something that may not work. That can add up in expense and fill your junk drawers with useless products going to waist. My thoughts exactly with my baby fine hair I just knew I did not want to take that risk.

Only one Spin Pin holding this
I do have to say after seeing these in my box to try I got excited. First thing I did (after my un-boxing pictures were all taken), I twirled up my hair into a bun on the back of my head and put one in just as the directions said to. Now I can not lie. The first 3 times I attempted this the Spin Pins did fall out, but I wanted to give it my honest hardest try. So I tried a 4th time and guess what?! One pin held in place. Now the bun was a little on the loose feeling side but it held. I have a little tomboy in me and can be on the move a bit so I just left the one pin holding in place for a few hours and went about my daily life. I was moving around quite a bit let me tell you. Not like riding in the back of a pickup truck but enough I though would shake that pin loose, but it held. So what I am saying is that these Spin Pins need practice to learn how to work them but once you get it then its second nature and they work great. To hold baby fine hair in a bun with just one of these is amazing. Now if you have thick hair you might need more that the two in the pack but without having thick hair I can not be sure, but even if you need 4 to hold thick hair it is still worth the price and benefits. Benefit? No pressure points on the head like bobby pins can sometimes cause. I will say every now and then while spinning them into your bun or up do, you can catch a hair or two and feel the pulling effect but not enough to get me to stop using them. I like this idea. Spin pin. Who would have ever thought such a crazy little gadget would be so good.

Brown colored
So is the Goody Spin Pin a winner? I have to say yes it is. I use one most days but going out and want more secure hold, then I will use both just to make sure.

Can be bought in many local department and drug stores.
